Autumn in Japan is often associated with the many shades of red that leaves start to turn. So in homage to that aesthetic I share this photo of Motonosumi Inari Jinja in Yamaguchi Prefecture.

As we head into October, the country starts to cool down, and autumn leaves (known as koyo) will soon sweep the country in a wave of red and gold, starting in Hokkaido late this month or early next month (Sep/Oct) and gradually making its way towards the south. Also as you may already know but Japan has been recently affected by natural disasters, however most facilities are back up and running. To stay on top of the wild weather please download apps such as the Japan Official Travel App, for alerts on natural disasters, to find your nearest free wi-fi and many more features when travelling in Japan. 

Kansai International and New Chitose Airports both operational again
Kansai International Airport (Osaka) and New Chitose Airport (Sapporo) are both operational again following recent typhoon and earthquake interference. For more information on the local recovery efforts please check: Osaka and Hokkaido.
