The G7 Ise-Shima Summit is Here!
The 42nd G7 Ise-Shima Summit will be held in Shima City, Mie Prefecture on the 26th and 27th of May 2016.
Iconic sites such as Meoto-Iwa (wedded rocks) of Futamiura, rocky sawtooth coast lines, and Ise Grand Shrine, known as the homeland of the Japanese spirit, can be found in Ise-Shima. The area is also gifted by the riches of the sea, with an abundance of Japanese spiny lobsters, abalones and oysters.
Ise-Shima is an area that truly captures the hearts of the people who visit, and we hope the G7 leaders will fully enjoy its charms during the Summit. Since it was selected as the next host of the G7 Summit, Ise-Shima has gathered attention from all over the world. For example, media personnel from 33 countries have attended the 19 international press tours that we conducted. A special magazine has been created to further provide information about Mie Prefecture.
